Vittoria Mastik One Tubular Tire Glue and Gluing Kits

Gluing tubulars is not magic. It is a straightforward process that requires attention to detail. Sort of like painting correctly. I exclusively use Vittoria Mastik One as my glue of choice to glue tubular tires. 

Glue has a bit of a shelf life once opened and generally the older the glue is the lower its performance. Buy enough to accomplish your shorter term gluing needs (within the year let's say). After 20+ years of gluing thousands of tubulars I generally use about 12-13g per coat, or about 63g / wheel. Mastik One is sold in tubes of 30g (roughly 2.5 coats) or in a tin of 250g (roughly 20 coats). 

I generally do 2 coats on a rim and 2 coats on a tire. Then there is an additional coat on the rim when mounting the tire. My process is in the YouTube video linked in the media for this item. That would mean 5 coats / wheel or 10 coats on a set. Rough math shows you need about 6x30g tubes (for a little extra) in order to glue a set and can get about 2 full sets out of a tin (250g).

I have created 2 "Glue Kits" that you buy here. one is made up of 6 tubes of glue and 5 acid brushes to help you apply it (good for 1 wheelset). The second is 1 tin and 6 acid brushes that should be enough to do 2 wheelsets. Of course the amount of glue used it up to you so feel free to add extra or just buy the tubes or tins and do your own thing. 

Of note tubular glue can only be shipped via Ground options.
