The Baby Limus is what Challenge created as a sort of answer to the way the Donnelley PDX had over the market. Before it was an option many racers would run the chunkier Limus tread on the pavement until they wore down the center lugs enough to reduce it's drag in drier conditions. Seeing the need Challenge then created the Baby Limus. It has the smaller and shorter Limus style lugs running down the center it also has the heavier Limus side-lug for when you really need that traction just before slipping.

This is a great all around tread for those that race in an area where it tends to be slightly wetter or slicker. It can handle almost all conditions even up to some slick mud. It's not as fast as the Grifo or Chicane on really dry hard pack but it doesn't sacrifice much when it comes to grass. Loose dirt and rocks are where this tread excels.

Rob's Rating: "The Baby Limus has become the sort of defacto all around tire for the majority of the country. If you're going to run one tubular then this is the popular one that will handle a wide range of courses and conditions. That said I still don't think it's the one tread to win them all. I think Challenge achieved that on the newer Flandrien. The Baby Limus does have more side grip than the Flandrien if you feel you need that extra security."

Leah's Take: "I like the cornering traction in slimy or slippery conditions that the Baby Limus provides. Sometimes I put it on the front for added traction if I am running Grifos but need a little extra grip in the corners. The Baby Limus and the Flandrien are similar but I really like how aggressive the side lug is on the Baby Limus. It gives me confidence. "

Tim's Take: "Great Tire to use for the early mornings when the dew is high and the track may be slick. Fantastic all conditions mud tire. If you don't mind sliding a little more in heavier mud and want something not as heavy and slow as it's big brother Limus then choose the Baby. For those times when it's dry and fast and your style is aggressive, it also works well as a front tire only option when combined with a faster rear tire like a Grifo or Chicane."
